Stop Interrupting Your Modeling Flow to Check Scale

When you build an Archviz scene or prepare models for a marketplace, measurement happens constantly. You check the width of a table, compare furniture heights, test a clearance around a doorway, or make sure an imported asset has the right real-world scale.

3ds Max already has measurement options, but many quick checks should not require breaking your focus. DimBox keeps the most useful values where you need them: in the viewport, next to the selected objects.

What DimBox Helps You Do

See Object Dimensions in the Viewport

Display temporary X, Y, and Z bounding-box dimensions directly around the selected object.

Compare Multiple Selected Objects

Show measurements for every object in your current selection at the same time.

Measure a Complete Selection

Enable combined selection bounds to see the total width, depth, and height of a group of objects.

Built for Real Archviz and Asset-Creation Dimension Checks

DimBox is useful whenever scale matters but speed matters too:

  • Check whether furniture fits a room before adjusting placement.
  • Compare the scale of downloaded or imported 3D assets.
  • Measure the footprint of a dining set, cabinet group, or prop collection.
  • Check gaps, clearances, heights, and diagonal distances in an interior scene.
  • Verify the dimensions of assets before preparing them for a marketplace.

Point-to-Point Distance with Automatic Snapping

For scene layout, object dimensions are only part of the job. You also need to know the distance between specific points.

Click Pick two points, choose the points, and DimBox reports the direct distance along with X, Y, and Z differences. DimBox activates snapping while you pick, then restores your previous snap settings after the measurement is complete.

This is especially useful for angled distances, where one total value does not explain the horizontal and vertical spacing.

Yes. It can show dimensions for every selected object, or one combined bounding box for the complete selection.

It displays total distance and the separate X, Y, and Z axis distances between the two selected points.

DimBox formats its values using the unit settings of your active 3ds Max scene.
